ASHTON COURT MENU: intro | 2006 | 2005 | 2004 | 2003 | 2002
Jess Brand is a Bristol-based artist using time and motion to help convey disparities between internal and external realms - how conscious and unconscious states have different effects through their interactions with the world. Bardo (betweenness) is a multi-screen reflection of a semi-conscious state when one is at the mercy of the mind - its memories and fantasies.
An initiative facilitated by the Bristol Natural History Consortium, bringing
together groups of young people in the S/W of England with community-based
filmmakers in their regions to each produce a short film, communicating to
other young people about their lives and environment. See the two films made
by young people in Bristol in conjunction with Knowle West Media Centre.
